What is the atmosphere and culture at Remember Me Senior Care?

Tracy Sneed, Co-founder and Owner

It’s exciting! We have a great group of people committed to making this a special place. We have residents who came in and added to the environment with their personalities so much.

Kiesha, LPN

The most important thing I look forward to is the residents and how they greet you. It’s always in small ways. And it’s always love. I consider residents like my family. It is almost like I have an extra set of grandparents—a lot of them. For me, Remember Me Senior Care is unlike any other facility. It just feels like family because you get one-on-one time with residents more often than in other places because of the staff and resident ratio.

What do you tell future residents about what they might experience?

Andy Sneed, Co-founder and Owner

Our single biggest goal in designing RMSC was to make the environment as close to “home” as possible. “Home” is one of the very fabrics of our culture - from the physical design a resident experiences, to the “family” atmosphere that they feel as they develop close relationships with our team and other residents and resident families. Nothing makes us happier than to see the satisfaction from our residents and their families when they choose to stay with us. Just because an individual needs assisted or memory care doesn’t mean they can’t experience “home.”

Tracy

What I hear from current residents is that they like to see that owners are here every day. They love the environment, meals, and activities. They love that their families can visit whenever they want. We encourage the families to get involved with the activities to help us be one happy family. Another thing that I’ve been told is that they love the community aspect that we have. Sometimes we will go to another house for dinner. They enjoy that they get to do a lot of social activities. One of the unique components of our community is that we are an extension of the family for our residents. Some families become friends with other residents because they participate in activities.

“It’s very special!” -Tracy Sneed

Ashley Howard, Executive Director

The most significant feedback we receive from families is how different they see their loved ones once they get here. We like to keep them social and active to ensure they are not staying in their rooms. We’re doing something almost every hour, which helps the residents to feel more involved.

What type of individuals are we looking to join our team?

Ashley, ED

I’m looking for team members who have a heart for this environment. They have to be passionate. They have to be trustworthy. And they have to really love the geriatric population. Our culture at Remember Me is to be the family for these residents and family, to walk them through this process and journey. We want to leave a positive impact on our community with kindness, care, and compassion. We’re looking for team members who can join us on this journey.

Joshua, LPN

If you’re looking for a job in senior living, RMSC is a great place to do that because you can build relationships with residents and help them through their day-to-day lives.

Kiesha, LPN

I feel like I’m not just a nurse here. I am so much more. I am their friend and encourager. It’s not just one role you have here. It’s many different roles.

What to expect from working at Remember Me Senior Care?

Ashley, ED

So our care team is made up of universal caregivers; that is what we call it. So it doesn’t matter if you’re an RA, a CNA, an LPN, or any director; we like to work together and make it a family environment. Everyone is expected to do whatever is needed to get the job done. Whether it is sweeping the floor or taking the trash out, it’s everyone’s job because to provide the best care to the residents and families, everyone has to step up and do whatever is needed.

Katelin, LPN

If anyone is interested in the geriatric field or working in senior living, I think up-front you need to know that you have the personality and characteristics of a caretaker. It’s more than just passing medications. You have to be that companion, that support system. You build a lot of relationships that way. This is a very good place to come because you can build relationships with residents and help them through their day-to-day lives. I definitely feel like the staff is here family-oriented.

Joshua, LPN

I love the family atmosphere. I love that everyone is easygoing and professional. It’s amazing to have such a great team that will back you up and love their residents and enjoy doing things with them daily.

What does our team love most about working at Remember Me Senior Care?

Joshua, LPN

The entire team has the same values. We’re not just here to clock in and clock out. We’re here actually to be a family and to take care of you. And it’s all of our staff, from owners to nurses. We’re here to take care of you!

Katelin, LPN

Building relationships is a big priority in RMSC. Where in other places, it is always encouraged; however, by the time your tasks are done, you, as a nurse, usually don’t have time for that. Here in RMSC, the staff-to-residents ratio is significantly lower than in other places, allowing me to get to know them more personally than I’ve experienced before.

What is your favorite part of this job compared to other employers?

Katelin, LPN

I thought I was done with the geriatric population. I felt burnt out. And it’s not about the people I worked with but about corporate standards. So I decided to give it one more chance and work with a locally-owned place. And I’m really glad I did because it brought back the love of this job. To be more than a nurse, I get to help with transitions and be a friend. I remembered why I loved it so much before.

Joshua, LPN

In another job, I worked with 40 to 50 residents. I was the only nurse on shift, which never allowed me to talk and get to know residents. Here at RMSC, I actually get to spend time with residents and make them laugh. I do enjoy that here a lot. I get to develop relationships with residents at RMSC because I have time and access to do so. And I really care a lot about the quality time that I get to spend with the residents, and I get to do it here.
